Our premium fisherman pants are artisanally made using traditional Thai techniques. They are chemical-free and derive their coloring from natural plants and stones native to Northern Thailand.

The material used is 100% organic cotton which is at once soft and durable. This handcrafted product has received a 4-star certification from the Thai government under the OTOP scheme which aims to promote rural traditions, and entrepreneurship and certify authenticity.

Like all Thai fisherman pants, they have no buttons or zippers and are adjusted by folding and tying the waist. 

Production

Handmade using a traditional handloom these wrap pants are made in small batches using local techniques. The blue color is derived from the indigo plant (Indigofera tinctoria). This plant is native to the region and has been used for centuries in Thailand to produce a deep, rich blue color which is then fixed using banana stems via a technique long known to the village but that remains a local secret. 

The whole process can take a number of days to finish. This is why the price tag is higher than our standard fisherman pants

We use plant-based dyes in producing these fisherman pants and abide by the principles of slow fashion and fair trade. All materials are sourced locally and we aim to reward rural communities by raising incomes while preserving traditions.
